The Commissioner is responsible for making a number of decisions through the year.  This can include issues such as the budget and precept, appointments and priorities.

How are decisions made?

The Manual of Corporate Governance is a document which sets out how the Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable will work together and deliver a policing service in South Wales.

The Manual contains:

  • The Code of Corporate Governance
  • Scheme of Delegation
  • Financial Regulations
  • Standing Orders Relating to Contracts
  • Decision Making and Accountability Framework

Decisions Made

Decisions are made at the monthly Strategic Board meeting. When the Commissioner makes any decision of public interest, these will be published online.

Scrutinising the decisions made by the Commissioner

The Police and Crime Panel is responsible for overseeing the Commissioner and scrutinising his decisions.
